INSTRUCTIONS TO SET UP UTILITY SERVICE WITH
THE CITY OF BUFORD
|

If you are:
|
|
|
RENTING, LEASING, in a LEASE-PURCHASE AGREEMENT, having
services connected for a property that is not your PRIMARY RESIDENCE, (e.g.
rental property that you own, or property that you are listing for someone else);
you are required to post a deposit on all applicable utilities. *Commercial applications
for city services must be submitted in person.

DEPOSITS FOR RENTERS, LEASERS, ETC.
|
|
|
GAS: $235.00 AND UP
|
|
|
ELECTRIC: $300.00 AND UP
|
|
|
WATER: $20.00 AND UP
|
|
|
WATER ONLY: $50.00 AND UP
|
|
|
SEWER ONLY: $50.00 AND UP
|
|
|
WATER AND SEWER ONLY: $75.00 AND UP
|
|
|
Customer is required to:
|
|
- Apply in person at Buford City Hall, or
- Mail in deposits with an application for utility service, Attn: Customer Service
- Must provide identification and a copy of your rental or lease agreement.
|
|
|
This cannot be handled via phone or applied to your utility bill.
|
|
|
The deposits must post to your account before utility services
will be connected.
|
|
|
If you are PURCHASING a home:
|
- There will be a deposit added to your first month's utility bill in the amount applicable
to the service provided (see below). Deposit refunds are issued at account closing.
DEPOSITS FOR HOMEOWNERS
UTILITY DEPOSIT: $235.00 (gas, electric, water, sewer service(s)
individually or any combination thereof as applicable.)
Exceptions:
WATER ONLY: $50.00
SEWER ONLY: $50.00
WATER AND SEWER ONLY: $75.00
- Please complete the application for utility service(s)
- Mail, fax or email a copy of proof of ownership - (e.g. ONLY the 1st
page and the signature page of the purchase agreement or contract.
- Mail, fax or email a copy of a picture I.D. (e.g. driver license)
- Two(2) working days are required to have the service turned on (Monday-Friday
only).
- On the application, please indicate the date you request your service to be turned
on.
- Mail, fax or email your completed application along with the proper paperwork to:

your new service.

- Sales agreement or Contract/proof of ownership
PLEASE FAX, EMAIL OR MAIL YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE OR APPLY IN
PERSON AT BUFORD CITY HALL. IF YOUR APPLICATION
PACKAGE LACKS ANY OF THE REQUIRED INFORMATION, YOUR SERVICE WILL NOT BE CONNECTED
ON THE DATE REQUESTED.
